    Income look back...

Say that I am filing January 15th.

What paystubs should I need to provide? What time period needs to be covered?

    Thanks!

Having just asked that same question to my attorney an hour ago, he told me that if I file January 15th then I would need to have the pay stubs for July 1 - December 31. In other words, those are the 6 months of look back. (Although I do need to have all paystubs up to the day I file and beyond).

So not July 15 - January 15 as I had thought.

I am interested to hear what others have had to do though.

That means (due to a bonus I received last year) that I will be waiting an additional 15 days to file.

The bk law is very clear - the six month lookback period before filing is always *FULL* calendar months.

In other words, let's say you file Jan 2 - the lookback will be July 1-Dec 31. If you file Jan 15, the lookback is still July 1-Dec 31. If you file Jan 31, the lookback is still July 1-Dec 31. However, if you file Feb 1, then the lookback changes to Aug 1-January 31. Make sense?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Thanks lrprn. I did not realize that until today. Those 15 days would have made a HUGE difference in my DMI (about $1,000 per month).

We had to provide one year of payroll information...required by our trustee.
