Looks like her plan is confirmed (2/2010), and I'm unsure what Becky is wanting.
Becky, if your plan is already confirmed, you may be hard pressed to go back and have it modified so that you can now contribute to a 401(k), even though it is allowed. The reference to 11 USC 521 is just that 401(k) plan contributions are "not" disposable income. However, you're now in a confirmed plan, so things are a little more... more... difficult to just change without a hearing.
Yes, work with your attorney. It may "cost" you to modify your confirmed plan (additional attorney fees).Chapter 7 (No Asset/Non-Consumer) Filed (Pro Se) 7/08 (converted from Chapter 13 - 2/10)
