Maybe it's just me...but I think it is too soon to worry about having a credit card. For me, I have used my check card for everything, even renting a car when I totaled my car a few months ago. I don't know that I'll ever use one again. I never say never, but I do really well with my check card and paying with good old fashioned cash! Feels really good actually, not to have any CC's. I have one more year to go and it has been ups and downs but I can truly say I don't miss a CC. This thing is kinda like being an alcoholic, I'm in recovery!

The fine print state if you don't activate in 14 days it will be closed. I don't think I need to worry but for kicks I will call and ask for better terms! :-)

Definitely call and keep your eye on the account after you cancel to make sure it was truly cancelled and you were not charged.

Unless there is something in the credit card terms that say you have to activate the card to incur the annual fee, I wouldn't take any chances. Call or write them and and tell them to close the account.

Magic it's CreditOne!! You were right! I double checked today! So do you think I should call even though I didn't and WON'T activate it!

That is not Capital one that is Credit One. If you activate it you will immediately be charged the $75.00 AF

You can always cut it up and send it back to the sender!
I don't know if you have to cancel the account if you never activated it. My only experience with that is a couple of debit cards, and I needed those...

Yeah probably! Maybe they will be so sorry to see my 300.00 credit limit go that they will lower interest rate AND remove yearly fee!! Yeah like that will happen!

i would think so. i know i most certainly would. you may not activate it, but if you just cut it up without calling the company, they may or will think it was lost in the mail and the next thing will be a letter you most likely will need to address in one way or another, best just to call and make certain it's cancelled.
