    341 is OVER!!! :)

We showed up 2 hours early....we were afraid that they were working on the roads and didn't want to take any chances. The "mean" trustee turned out to be very nice and looked and sounded like Ellen Degenerous. haha Our attorney said she goes over everything...she did with some of the people...especially those who had filed before. Ours was very easy and our attorney asked if there were any issues and she said no. THe only bad part was we ran into a couple that we went to school with. I told her, "We didn't see you and you didn't see us"...haha We also found out they live a few blocks from us. She did ask some people what they did with their tax returns....not us though! S&T&RELIEVED!!!!

did you remember to list the xanax as an expense? haha!!

right before my 341, i realized that i had my wallet with me which i forgot to list in my personal assets... i was so nervous that the trustee might be tough, that i stuffed it into my bra! HAHAHA!
i can't believe i forgot to list my purses (all cheap ones, of course) on my assets... oh well!
good thing i didn't use one that day... i would have looked like pamela anderson with it stuffed in my top and the
trustee would have asked me where i got the money for a breast augmentation! LOL

                          What a riot.

Since we are on the subject of putting the important things right next to your heart, here's one from HH.

I had to go to a Distant City to file my petition. I am a country girl, and although I was once an excellent city driver in my younger incarnations, going to a Distant City was stressful as hell for me in this application. My car had been being patient while waiting for repairs and I was a bit afraid for her. I was VERY afraid of the many trucks surrounding me on the highway, even in my medium sized SUV. I had to drive three hours like this to make my filing and get back home three hours to do chores.

So... when I got there I was so relieved to be in my parking spot.

I had to negotiate a city street on foot - which I overlooked from the third story of the parking garage.

Overwhelmed by a nervous feeling that I should be very prudent, I went back to my car and left my wallet there, bringing my $299 filing fee with me in three new bills, secured by a paperclip to the innermost layer of my brave bosom. I took nothing else with me except my file.

After going to the Wrong Official-Looking-Building and then being directed back 300 yards to where I came from to the Right Building, I entered and went through the Detector confidently, knowing I was carrying only a file - a file containing my entire life history and ALL of my ID.

But the Detector was not liking me, and the Men were looking rather concerned - busily getting out their wands and checking electronic frequencies and whatnot.

They asked me if I had anything on my person - and since I had recently relieved myself of even my wallet! I shook my head as if to say, "noway.org!".

There were three of them and they started circling in a gentle, non-threatening way. Then the tallest one, an older gent with a white mustache, white hair and wearing a neat full uniform - asked me if I was ....

                          "secreting anything on my person".

At which point I burst out laughing, PLUNGED my hand into my uppermost nether parts, and produced my filing fee!

                          With the offending paperclip.

                          Gawd ForBID!

HUH????? You have to list your purse???
Ok, this is really ridiculous!! My friend just filed BK and he didn't have to list every single thing he owned.

It would take me probably over a year to list all the stuff I have.

No worries, CG. On your forms your standard household and personal belongings are listed in a lump sum - the typical American household adds up to about $2-3,000 total. Only if you have very valuable items - art, furs, etc - in your household belongings do those have to be split out and valued separately.

There have been very rare cases where individual trustees wanted a listing of every single household item, but that typically happens in cases where fraud is suspected.
