Question about quitting job to pass means test.

First I wanted to say that as soon as I read this, Flamingo, I called my Dr. and I have an appointment to see her tomorrow to get some anxiety meds. I've been battling serious stomach problems for weeks and I thought I had a parasite or something (tests were negative) but I realize now it's probably a STRESS bug..

Well... I'm kind of just hoping for something that, at the end of the day after stressing at work and running kids to their destinations, making dinner and then discussing finances and BK possibilities with my husband, makes me think like a normal human being and not scream at members of my family for no reason over things way out of my control. I feel that at this point I'm beyond the "hot bath and candelight' stage, if you catch my drift.

If it's all making you really sick then cutting out the second job, giving up the house and going with a 7 is the way to go.

If I were in your shoes that's the way I would go. There is nothing I own that is worth a chapter 13.

I do work 2 jobs and love it so because after my discharge all my spare cash is going into retirement savings. I could and would NEVER work 2 jobs to pay a 13.

Just wait out the 6 months and get used to living in a smaller, cheaper place.

Meds are very serious business that is why doctors perscribe them like their candy. My neighbors kid has been out of drug rehab and he gets a perscription o f xanax, like a 200 count. So he gets cleaned of his drug problem then gets hooked on xanax. This happens with other drugs like oxy's, roxies and so forth. What do these kids do? They turn around and sell them or they get drug dealers to pay their doctors appts and sells them to the drug dealer wholesale and he turns arounds and sells them. I know a drug dealer that says down here in South Florida, roxies are reaching epidemic proportions. Its big business and the pharamcuitical companies keep spitting them out. Its a vicious cycle.

You just said you were dead broke, stressed out, sick over it and you're worried about being able to provide entertainment? That is something that needs to be eliminated temporarily or maybe you can find another means to make up that money ....how old are they? Can they get a paper route to support their sports and entertainment? I know when I was a kid, I had 3 paper routes, my sister helped me and she babysat, mowed the lawn etc... and we paid for our baseball and ballet. Kids these days don't know what it is to do this as their parents pay for everything even when they are bankrupt...

You suggesting that I make my 4 year old get a job to pay for her dance lessons and my 7 and 10 year old get paper routes to pay for football is unbelievable. For one thing...kid paper routes don't exist anymore. For another thing...it is not my kids' fault we are going through this. I would sell my plasma to pay for these things before I told them that their fun is over till they are old enough to earn an income.

That is wonderful. I hope your retirement savings builds up quickly. I hope to put back my retirement funds when this mess is over.

Berry, you need to calm down until your attorney gives you some direction and hopefully that will assuage your fears. Mike is just giving his opinion based on his childhood experiences.

When the moderators email you back, I hope they address your name calling.

Fair enough Berrymom. We dont know the whole situation but I am just as guilty with coming off as abrasive and I appreciate the moderators for having patience. We all need to lighten up, everybody is in basically the same boat here. Being banned doesnt help anybody.
