I hair my hair highlited every probably 6-7 weeks. Will the trustee question that I get my hair done? I know please don't shake your head, i am just wondering if he/she will say why are you spending your money on that? Also, i had my nails done for my friends wedding in June and I had tips put on, Now i usually go every 3 weeks for nails and pedicure, should I have the nails taken off and stop the pedicures? Is that frowned upon by the trsutee? I never get a pedicure in the winter just in the summer cause my feet get really dry. Please don't jump on me for asking this question. Just want to know if the trustee will look me over and say, well she gets her hair done and her nails/pedicure, so lets give her a problem about that. I defiantely do not want to bring attention to myself. Also, whats the dress code for the 341?

Believe it or not, there are SO many little things to worry about when filing as to your appearance. I am sure most of us on here would look twice at someone who just filed BK and they are dressed to the nines in designer clothing and dripping jewelry. This was a neat topic brought up by the OP because if one is in Chapter 13, those luxury costs of getting hair and nails done could be a thing of the past cause just nails and pedicure alone can run about $50 every 2-3 weeks and visiting a salon for a woman with cut/color can run $100 easily every month to six weeks (that sure does add up!). Men are easier with maybe $10 plus tip for a haircut every 3 or so weeks.

I would consider getting your hair highlighted as a luxury and not a need.

My attorney told me before the 341 to not go in wearing anything expensive, don't get nails done, etc.

I am not going to take any chances. I will stop getting my nails done, but the hair... I need to keep up with that. I will only get partial foils for now... Which is half the cost.

Best perm I ever had cost me 20 bucks at one of these schools and my hair was down to my ass at the time. Took two of them four hours to roll my hair.

The students were very careful because they were being graded on it.

I am going to look into the school in my county. Hopefully, they are much cheaper then the salons.

You are so right! I should have filed 20 years ago! No one had even heard of extentions then.

Sadly, even though my hair is about to hit my waist now because I haven't been able to afford haircuts, I doubt my aged mane is worth as much as it would have been back then. BUT, I will certainly inquire before chopping it off, which is on my immediate to do list.

Gosh, I hope you didn't think I was making fun of the topic ...it was a very good one and I am one who still tries to get my hair highlighted and my nails done every time I can swing it, and I would absolutely think about how it would look at my 341 ... I was just saying that the posts had me laughing very hard...in a good way...now, it was 5am so maybe I was getting a little punchy but I LOVED it...it was fun & made me laugh!!!! Sorry if I was misinterpreted...that can sometimes happen with writing!!

I did that with my daughters hair. She had hair past her tush and cut it up to her ears. There was a lot of hair to donate.
