Just because it gets erased, doesn't mean it won't show up again.

Do it yourself and learn a thing or two without spending $1500-$2500. It's not very hard. Plus, it could very well take longer than 6 months to "repair."

Plus, check out their "F" rating on BBB.org:

These credit repair companies... are they just basically getting paid to do the "clean up" you could do for free? For example, me disputing something that says "Charge off" instead of "IIB"?

I know it's a stupid question, but am I right in my train of thought?

Yes, you are correct. Also, you'll do a better job and learn a lot in the process. These "companies" could care less about you as long as they get your money.

There is plenty of information out there on how to start. First dispute addresses, wait, 1-2 punch, wait again, taking it slow and methodical. Definitely more than a six month process.

The chances this company can get your bankruptcy removed is quite small. They intend to flood the credit agencies with multiple false claims stating you did not file to increase the chance that someone will make a mistake and delete your bankruptcy. This is completely unfair to everyone else who is following the rules.

This forum does *not* support and does *not* recommend this practice.

I have read they have gotten them taken off only to have it show up later. And this person has been cheerleading this company on a few posts.

                    Charge Off VS. IIIB

So, Is it better for the credit score to have a charge off or an IIB?
When trying to dispute the BK, are we disputing for each and every credit line but the bk still shows in the public records section, correct?

Sorry for the repeat questions... so if we somehow get the bk off of each credit item the bk would still be on the public records section, right? but our scores would be much improved?

                    Thanks!

A few months back, I posted an article on "credit repair companies." It is under the BK news section of this forum. It explains what these companies do (in plain words lie for you at a high cost) and keep disputing the same items over and over again every 30 days just to keep them temporarily off your credit reports. When you end the service, guess what will reappear on your credit reports? Also, BK never disappears. It stays forever on public records and also stays on the records of those creditors that you included in your filing, many of which will not ever extend credit again to a filer.

Note that all three CRAs are aware of what goes down as to this process so if one wants to waste their money on these places, that's up to them. The only thing that can actually repair one's credit is time and paying all bills in time consistently.

Two separate threads created by original poster have been merged. These posts touting bk removal companies are not welcome here in the forums since they rely on dishonesty to accomplish their goal.
