Finally Closed!

15 months after I filed, my case is finally closed!!!!

There's a certain amount of relief that comes from getting that single piece of paper in my hands. I still have more to deal with financially, but at least I don't have the BK court or Trustee looming over my head.

Does that mean that even though you are discharged, it's not really over until you are closed. I was discharged on 7/15. Oh, no. Did I do the Hamster Dance too soon?

Discharged is not the same as "closed", if you have pending things like Taxes (as in 'Belle's case), complicated property issues and/or you are expecting a large tax refund that the Trustee has his eye on, this would cause a case to be discharged but still not "closed"

Discharge is the real goal. However, we filed 12-28-07 the last fiscal work day of the year, however we employed 15 months before as it still stopped actions. We then had to insist on getting the dern thing filed. We are yet to be closed and was discharge 8-13-08 and still waiting on close. Life is good and we do not sweat the small stuff.

Remember, life is a b*tch and when it's over, you die. LOL. And so, our credo, happiness is a state of mind. You choose daily what you want, happiness or depression.

Thank you. I love BK forum. I've learned so much and have had so much support from everyone. It's sooooo nice to know that I am not alone. Thanks for the help guys.

No. No victory dance for me yet. Got the discharge but case is still opened. Thanks for asking. I thought the discharge was the final cut, but just leaned that it ain't over till it's over and that means "CLOSED". I will continue waiting as patiently as I can.

Thanks for the info Hub and Mrs. C. I am learning every day. Seems like just yesterday I didn't even know what PACER was. It's been a long haul. You've been such huge help. Everyone has.
