Exactly! And DM, using your logic, if you only pay for the services you use then should people who don't pay taxes be denied services? Since you haven't been paying property taxes, maybe the police won't come to your aid when you call and if your house catches fire you are on your own.

Ha! Yeah, that too. But banging my head against a brick wall might hurt a little worse.Originally posted by Amy26 View PostReally? I just thought it was incredibly annoying.

Debtmonster is one of those people who just won't learn. Will get discharged then in 7 years try to file again. Hence the name Debtmonster.
Debtmonster if you want to have a better life/debt free you need to change your circumstances. If you make 55K a year you should be able to pay the taxes that go a long with that. Being self employeed you know right away that 15% of your bottom line profit will go to the government in FICA taxes. There is no way around it. You have to pay your portion plus the portion that an employer would pay. Getting a part time job isn't really going to help. 7.5% of that will be going towards FICA and then will also make your income taxes start to rise.
Maybe it is time to realize that self employment isn't going to work and you need to get a full time job. You may be able to get through bankruptcy alright but nothing is going to save you from the Federal Government if you don't pay your taxes. They will take what ever you have left.

Well debtmonster, you may have to pay taxes on things you feel you would never use that you say you are being robbed for but you do get to wipe out $300,000 worth of debt in goods and services that you have used/gotten by filing bankruptcy. You can call it your own personal stimulus plan. lol

You alter the facts to fit the situation in every post. You are either bragging about making $55k/year, or you are whining that you don't make enough to live even though you don't pay car payments, mortgage, rent, utilities, credit cards, home maintenance, or any other living expenses. You brag in one post about your ability to "throttle" your income down for tax purposes to pay very little income tax, then you complain in another that you pay outrageous taxes. It doesn't make sense.Originally posted by debtmonster View PostYou're not telling me anything I don't already know.
I still don't want to work for anyone else. I just don't make enough money to live. Why do you think I went bankrupt for?
Your wife gets her nails done every week but you can't pay your income tax? You can't afford health insurance? Where is your money going? Don't claim it's going to your attorney. You paid him months ago, stopped paying your bills last year, and still don't have a dime. What gives?

You're not telling me anything I don't already know.Originally posted by LuciluS View PostDebtmonster: It has been less than a month ago, you stated you wouldn't want to work for anyone but yourself. Thus, the self employment taxes. You cannot have your cake and eat it too. When you pay yourself or get paid somehow, you should calculate the self employment tax & deposit that amount into a separate bank acct. These taxes should be deposited at a bank with an IRS coupon attached on a quarterly basis.
No wonder you owe so much taxes. Even though you are your own employer, an employer must pay the taxes due. I can just imagine the penalties & interest being charged on those overdue self employment taxes. Keep this in mind: If your self employment taxes are Not paid up to date when you retire, your social security monthly amount could be reduced or you might not receive one at all.
I would Never Want to Owe The Federal or State Government for Anything!

I still think you should pay for what you use. When you call the cops, you should pay. If you don't call them, you don't pay. If you have kids, you pay. If you don't have kids, you don't pay.
I hate socialized bills for stuff that I NEVER, EVER use. I am just throwing money away that could be used to live on. The gov't is taking all of my money in hoards. I owe so many thousands in taxes right now for being self-employed, that I am so screwed right now. That idea about buying a new car for cash is now going away.

Not sure if the OP was ever answered due to the threadjackers who interject their own situation in any thread they post in.....
To answer your question...that payment taken by the bank would be recovered by the Trustee to be distributed to all the creditors. You would not see a dime of it.
Good Luck!

This nail thread is hilarious. How about this one: I have acrylics because my nails are paper thin and peel and my fingers are horribly sensitive. I have them cut very short and they look like natural nails. The heck with glamour!! LOL.
