thanks all. yes i did call. im in the central district(los angeles). i had tried calling for the last few weeks and could never get a person. i tried this morning at about 9:30am. i got thru to a clerk that asked why i didnt call my lawyer first. i mentioned i filed Pro Se, she took my case number, put me on hold, returned a few minutes later and said the magic words "your case is now dismissed", said i would get a letter in the mail by tuesday. as soon as i got off the phone i logged onto Pacer and sure enough, status shows case dismissed with todays date

it's interesting that the discharge order itself (or the back page of it) specifically says "this is NOT a dismissal of the case."

I wonder if you didn't call today, when you would have received your discharge?? I'm still waiting for mine (I'm in the Central District too)....maybe I should call instead of racking up a huge bill on Pacer everyday!
