Including our house, we were at approx 700k.

400k was the mortgage loan. The rest was CC, medical, and so on.

      All gone now.

We had $98,748 in assets (mostly accounts receivable that will never be paid) and had $596,095 in loans, much of which was a mortgage and HELOC on a foreclosed-on house, and my wife's student loan (which wasn't discharged) -- then other miscellaneous things, like medical bills, back taxes (also not discharged), personal loan from family (will still repay), etc.

We will be filing ch. 7 soon on approximately 10k in cc and 6k in medical debt incurred while my husband was out of work several months due to an injury. Sounds small until taking in to consideration our income is only 30-32k/year.

We have $40K in unsecured credit card debt, $10K car loan, and $15K in student loans(which I know won't be discharged, not that I care)

No assets, and $10K under the median income(that is including student loan disbursements as income as well.)

credit card debt was about equivalent to annual gross income. Student loans were about 1.3x annual income. couldn't pay them both on annual income, filed when I received letter from lawyer that credit card was planning to sue.

That is small. I'd take your debt level and income any day. In any case mine is 87k for just cc's and 40k for student loans. Homes have been foreclosed on ages ago. Income at the time was double yours.
