Final signoff today...filing date is Tuesday!

So I signed off on all the BK papers at my lawyer's office this afternoon....no assets case.

I am filing a "retain and pay" on the mortgage (negative equity in the house of course). I missed this month's payment so i could pay the lawyer, but i plan to catch up when i get paid at the end of this month.

Now just gotta sweat it out for another month or so for the 341....wish me luck!

The credit cards have already started calling the house and cell, even though i am not even a full week late on either! I unplugged my home phone and have my cell on mute until Tuesday (i have a filter that allows calls from my parents to ring).

Glad you got those signed AND not an asset case.
I remember signing those papers, that was when the reality really hit me!!
The time from the filing to 341 seemed to go pretty quickly for me. This 60 day deal is drivin me bonkers though

Thanks oregon. I am hoping for a 341 before the turn of the year, just to calm my nerves. With all the holidays, I am not overly confident...but i will know by Wednesday either way.

BK...great luck on getting your 341 date!! we for some reason had to wait 2 months from filing...so do NOT panic as it's holiday season and it may take a bit longer...but it will go just fine!

Not worried...Maryland seems to move pretty quick in general from what i have read, so i am hopeful...but if it gets knocked a week out from there, no biggie.

great attitude BK...we took it "one" day at a time to eliminate some of the stress...it works!

Good Luck BKlooker...I have filed in the state of MD too...I signed my paperwork 11/11/10 in the office and 11/12/10 my BK was filed, that following Monday the office called me to give me my case # and meeting of creditors (341) date, which is 4 days before Christmas...so glad to finally be in the process...

Yea I am in a little bit of a panic at the moment because i found a mistake in my packet...they forgot to include my true medical expenses on the means test, but it is included on my schedules. As a result, my dmi is higher than I would like it to be...just barely passing the test! I called my lawyer Friday afternoon as soon as I caught it...his secretary said he would be back in the office around 5 that afternoon, but he never called me back so he probably never came back to the office that evening.

So I am hoping I can sync up with him on Monday morning first thing to get that amended and signed before they file on Tuesday. This whole process has been so emotionally trying...i can't tell you how good it will be to get (correctly) filed. The credit card companies have been calling none stop (even though I am only late on 1 of them), and that adds to things. I've unplugged my land line and just put my cell phone ringer on silent since it's just 2-3 more days, so i can just screen them that way until then.

Trying not to freak out.....
