Timing seems to carry a lot of weight with filing and many Trustee's interest in income tax refunds. It's almost as if Trustees' interest in income tax refunds is "seasonal".

Many Trustees are very interested in income tax refunds of people who file BK during tax season AND late in the year. People who file May/June thru Aug/Sept generally don't hear any mention of interest in their income tax refund from the Trustee.
hmm.... this has got me thinking. i have been planning to file soon, as in within the next few months... i was thinking before the end of the year, but this is making me wonder if i should wait until middle of next year to lessen the chance they will want my tax refund. i really don't know how much i'd be getting since i only worked Jan-May this year, and if i understand correctly they won't touch the portion that is considered related to child tax credit or whatever it's called. i wonder if i should just have my SO claim our daughter on his tax return and just see what happens with mine. i really have no problem putting off filing but i just got the Nolo book and i have learned so much on this forum that i want to get it over with!

do you have a home? our property taxes will be $6,000 when it comes
due, I have no clue how we are going to pay it...

if we file bk 7 now, will they consider the $6,000, even
though it is not due until the end of the year.

      Thanks

Did you or your lawyer include the $6K property taxes as known expenses when you filed?
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
