My exhusband bought about $500 worth of tapes/cds over a year ago and has yet to pay for them. He refuses to give the post office his new address, so I see the letters from the collection agency that come every couple of months. I'm sure if he pulled his credit report this debt would be listed in collections and he doesn't seem to care.
Another thing that's driving me crazy is that I got the house in our divorce. It doesn't state in our decree that I have to refinance, but I plan on in the next few months as rates are dropping again. However, he has yet to give me the deed of trust to do so. If anyone pulls his report it's going to look like he has a huge mortgage as well as rent for an apartment. His debt to income ratio has to be killing his credit score. And again, he doesn't seem to care.
I'm not too worried about the deed of trust. My lawyer told me all I have to do is file my decree with the court house and I can refinance without his deed. What worries me is the $500 tapes he hasn't paid for. He bought those while we were still married. Can this collection agency come after me for this debt? My name is no where on this account. It's his and his alone.
