i understand about going nuts in nj......we left there and filed bk in another state...

now to understand your questions...are you asking how many creditors can sue you and get a judgment??? all of them....and then after your discharge you will have to have motions to vacate the judgments filed to have them removed...and if there are liens involved that can also be addressed then as well.

Do you mean a bank levy? If so, then they can just keep happening by as many creditors who have judgments against you. Opening up a new acount won't stop possible levies.

I think the op is asking if the same creditor can hit the account again once they have cleared it once?

Don't keep any money in banks that you would cry over losing if you woke up tomorrow and it's gone. If you have judgments against you.

Great advice. I am compulsive about checking to see if I've been filed against. If I were I would not use my bank account for anything.

They can take what they can FIND, up to the maximum of the judgment amount. As mentioned, it's risky to have bank accts when you have outstanding judgments. Some here on the forum advocate using 'Money Cards' etc to store funds and have available for use (online and offline).

The next best thing is to take advantage of internet banking and use a bank out of state, far far away.
Another good bit of advice is to keep your deposits separate from your bill paying accounts (at different banks).
A trick creditors use is to get a utility to give up your payment history and from this they figure out where you keep money.
