    Is a reduction in Child Support

    considered a reduction in income? Just had my Child support reduced. Am two months behind on my mortgage. Is this considered a reduction in income?

    If you are asking about figuring out your income to complete the Means Test income calculations to file bankruptcy or are in an active Ch 13 and may need to file an amended plan, then yes. A reduction of child support is a reduction in income.

      does it apply to the government's new loan modification program?

        It does, but realize, loan modifications are discretionary. Even if you have a decrease in income, the lenders are not required to give you a modification; but it doesn't hurt to try.
