Tobee, I bet it's on the way. You'll get it. I believe they were only supposed to start going out on the 10th, and given
how unreliable Rust Consulting has been, I bet they were late in getting them out.
If your house was foreclosed by one of the 5 big banks, between something like 2007 or 2009, and the end of 2011, you'll
    get a check for $1484.

I am baffled about the second one,the letter attached is from the alabama attorney general.

First check is from the Settlement of the "Independent Foreclosure Review". (everyone got different values from $300 up depending on their situation)

Second check is from the "National Mortgage Settlement" (everyone that qualified (smaller set than the first one) got the same amount $1484.21).

2 separate settlements, the first one was instituted by the OCC and the Federal Reserve. The second one was instituted by the Attorney Generals of 49 different states.

thanks jb! we never thought we'd see the day we would own our home. there was no chance of it happening on the home we left in nj. so it was all meant to be. we decided that that would be the best way to use the money as opposed to "fun" things. nothing funner...(is that correct english lol!) than NOT having a mortgage!

    thanks again

Ironic, but a fitting end to the mortgage fiasco! Congratulations again!

New news on the National Mortgage Settlement...

    Update: June 4, 2013

The date for the distribution of checks to borrowers who submitted valid claims has been set. Checks will begin mailing on June 10 and will be completed by June 17, 2013, and the payment amount for each loan is approximately $1,480. The exact amount is not being released to help prevent fraud. Please allow time for delivery of payments. The Settlement Administrator cannot provide specific mail dates for individual borrowers at this time.

thanks, that's sweet of you. i think we basically are all faced with these pressures in life...all of us, and i think imho, it's the way we face them which determines if we have a good/happy or not so happy life kinda like the cup being half full as opposed to empty.

the check was nice, but not quite, that nice LOL! but it helps to have a bit extra for hopefully some fun things to do. it's also nice to finally be in a place that we can afford forever without worries anymore, at least about money!
