I had about 100K all told. Could have made it but due to an enemy of mine he lost my wife two jobs and me one. Long story but to date he is in hospital in ICU. Karma. 'Hub

I filed over around $18,000 also. Was being sued by a creditor (credit card) for around $4,000.00 of this. The rest was medical and one other credit card with a balance of a little less than $3,000 including all the fees. My income is pretty low, though, so to me that was huge.
At this time it stands at about $40k, still waiting for the right time to file. Actually, it's easy to hit much higher numbers because the creditors will continue tacking on interest and fees up to the day you file.
Haven't filed yet but I'm assuming 43K in cc debt, 38K in car loans, 130K in mortgage, and about 10K in med bills so over 220K and our income is only ME right now and for years to come it seems...
We should have about $50,000 in unsecured debt discharged. We are keeping our house and our almost paid off car, so that is not included. Plus I have $65,000 in student loans, but I can't discharge those.
