The Seven year period of bankruptcy...

My bankruptcy was filed in 2005 and discharged in 2007. When did the 7 year mark of ch.7 start, in 2005 at filing or 2007 with discharge? I was just curious.
Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,

for a bk...it's 10 years from the discharge date....not the filing date.

ROFL!!!!!!!!! it would be!!! well....at least now of us would have to worry about getting credit again...and actually it wouldn't surprise me it they ( congress and or the banking industry) changes the time period from 10 years to 100 years!!!!!!!!!

You can file a Chapter 7 every eight years, right? The BK could stay on your credit report for up to ten years.

rotfl!!! sorry, I meant 2017. So many are lucky to file & be discharged in same year; trustee wanted my vehicle so mine dragged as...this past Sept. was five years since filing...seems like forever...

It's interesting that it's 10 years from discharge. I only say that because I filed in Dec 2009 and discharged in March 2010. According to my CR, it's "scheduled to continue on record until Dec 2019".
                        Chapter 7 filed December 11, 2009, 341 Meeting held on January 7, 2010
Deadline to File a Complaint: March 8, 2010

Discharged and Closed March 11, 2010

BK's reporting statute of limitations are from the filing date - not discharge date.
