Question looking for information about converting from a 13 to a 7

I am sure it's been discussed some where on this site...but I can't find it. Can someone point me in the right direction? I've been in a 13 for 16 months but lost my job in January and got a new job in April for MUCH less money. Got monthly trustee payment lowered but it's not low enough and I need to make the change before I get behind and get in trouble . My friend is a lawyer and is offering to help pro bono but I want to make sure I am asking the right questions and know what to expect when the paperwork gets filed . Not using original lawyer because I'm flat broke and can't pay more than the $7000 I've already paid for original filing and the adjustment.
