Has anyone gotten any wierd PM's from people you have no idea who they are? I got one that was an RE and I had never sent anything to that person.

Not something I'm going to respond to since it's obviously a spammer.04/04/08- Notice of deficiency balance due from a repo. 04/18/08- Fico scores w/repo listed: EXP 624, TRAN 610, EQU 610. 04/19/08- Found this forum. 04/24/08- Retained attorney for a chapter 7, filing singly. 5/5/08- Turned in bk paperwork to atty. 5/27/08- Date set for reviewing paperwork. -

There is a program that exploits a bug in vbulletin's software that allows a spammer to register and then spam every registered member with a PM.
I have actually only seen it once.
As with anything, exercise basic Internet precautions...don't click on any links (note, if you mouse over a URL link, your browser will normally display the web address in the bottom left corner), etc.Comment

I don't mean to scare you, but you should run your virus and spyware programs just to be on the safe side. Also, I'd change my password(s). Clicking on links posted by strangers is never a good idea, but if the link takes you "nowhere" there's a remote chance your password may have been phished or stolen.Originally posted by momof5 View Post
