Will The Stimulus Package Generate a Check to Us?

I want to make sure I.m clear on something. There has been so much talk about bailouts, stimulus packages and TARP that I.m trying to figure out if the American people will be receiving some money like they did last year when it was implied by Bush that the checks we received were to get people spending and jump start the economy. Will the same thing happen under Pres Obama....is he sending money as well?

2nd: how will the stimulus package help the regular working class person?

It helps the working class person "supposedly" by stimulating the economy and creating new jobs. IMO, it has done nothing but throw good money after bad and nothing will change.

One future measure will possibly help and was supposed to go into effect last year but it is coming end of March.

The gov is alloting billions of dollars for people to borrow in the form of loans, home, auto, etc.

This one action will stimulate the economy more than any stimulus package since it goes right to the heart of the housing and auto manufacturing problems and if it works, will create and maintain jobs.

The gov needs to stay out of big business and let them fail which will allow the smaller companies to pick up the slack and create new jobs.

We Americans also need to stop blaming the government and the banks for getting us into 3000. mortgages and 600.+ car payments. The age of entitlement is over, and good riddance to it. Blaming the lenders is like saying, "I am stupid, I don't understand what I am signing, and I don't know what I can afford."

There is a economic theory that capitalism needs some short socialist periods for recovery. This might be one of them. Put the failing corps into a bankruptcy reorganization and cram down every single American mortgage.

Then, whomever can't afford their mortgage due to high debt will lose their house.

But, we must revert back to capitalism to make our economy grow.

The "Where's my bailout" mantra from companies and people alike makes me crazy!

Indirectly. If you take the $16.00 extra in your paycheck to a restaurant, they in turn will give you a check called a guest check. If you want to see people think you are crazy, just try cashing those checks at your local bank.

i thought those on social security would get a 250 dollar check, also those on va pension that dont file taxes

Yes.. people that are on social security or SSI, will recieve a check of $250.00 by the end of April, nothing has to be done on your part to collect it, just keep checking your bank account or mail box next month

So people who do not work get $250! Those who do get $16 per paycheck! Something wrong here!
