I also applied for HSBC Best Buy card and was approved. A couple days ago applied for Orchard Bank HSBC card and approve. The primary difference is that Best Buy card has no annual fee. Orchard bank charges anywhere from $39-$79 (I was charged $39). And the BBuy issued card says best buy, but it is still a Mastercard that can be used anywhere.

I am going to cancel the Orchard bank card and keep the no annual fee Best Buy Mastercard. Identical limits, same bank, same reporting to bureaus. More than 3 cards on your credit file can bring your score down.

    Filed BK in November 2009
Discharged 5/4/2010 - Applied and received $500 secured card from credit union 5/15. It hit my credit reports on the 24th and I was then approved for both HSBC cards and a Cap 1 card

Annual fee information would have been in all the disclousers you are supposed to read before you check the box saying you read them.

    Thanks,
I was discharged today and thought I would give it a shot. I was approved instantly for $300 with no annual fee. I will use it a few times a month for gas purchases and pay it off right away. On the way to rebuilding my credit!

Applied online and got the "10-14 day" answer. Call in to the 877 277 0948 and it said, "you are approved" Credit Limit is $4000!!! I had one of these cards before and never used it b/c the limit was too low at $400. But we are about to move into a new condo and need to buy a fridge, so we will be using this to get the Zero interest! Yipee!! Thanks to the OP for the reminder about the card!

It should report to all three bureaus, but after three months it only shows on my TU and EX files.
