    10/05/2012 Order Discharging Debtor and Final Decree Chapter 7

    10/05/2012 Bankruptcy Case Closed

    I thought it took longer to close and you are not truly done until closed. Closed same day as discharged???

    Now trying to get through my mortgage modification

        Congratulations!

        It isn't uncommon for a no-asset case to discharge and close on the same day. It depends on local court and/or trustee practices.

        Filed Chap 13 April 2010. Discharged May 2015.
        $143,000 in debt discharged for $36,500, including attorneys fees. Money well spent!

            True. My no-asset case was discharged & closed the same day, too.

                I call that auto-discharge and auto-close! I love Districts that do this automatically so long as there are no "FLAGS" on the case.
