I went to the FCU first to see if I could even get approved before wasting a dealerships time. They said since it hasn't been 7 years since declaration, that I would need to put some money down, loan officer did not specify how much, because I interrupted her and told her I already planed and saved to put 20% down.

Fullboost. Thats encouraging .. My vehicle has been nickel & diming me thru the last year of my BK ... Its an 2004 Jeep . Looking forward to being able to secure financing once I get my discharge. Already spoke with my credit union and they stated to let them know when I have discharge papers in hand. I have put money back & with my income tax refund should be able to put a nice chunk plus some trade in money down. Hopefully my discharge w/be in April... 5 mths & counting since my last payment..I just received a check this week from trustee office for the credit I was carrying ($950)to balance out my BK case too zero....

Chapter 7 file June 22, 341 hearing July 28, Open Chapter 7
Car: 2014 Honda Civic EX
Used Costco Auto Price program, MSRP of $21,880, Purchase price $18,590 plus $590 GAP
Loan App Aug. 13
Lender: Consumer Portfolio Services
Down payment: $3,000
Financed amount: $18,190
APR: 14.7 percent
Monthly Payment: $429
Term: 60 months
Opted not to take 72 months at $380 a month
Equifax Auto Enhanced Score: 577
Transunion pulled but not used: 641
I'm sure the dealer added a couple of points to APR, as the offer was for an APR of 15.7 percent without the GAP, 14.7 with the GAP. I suspect CPS APR was around 12 percent.
Will try to refi with Cap One in six months. Dealer F&I guy said he thought I could get below double digits with Cap One in four to six months.
Chapter 7 filed in Central California District, no issue in buying in No Asset Chapter 7, Trustee report on 341 hearing lists no assets, no distribution. Asked attorney three times if I needed trustee approval and was told absolutely not each time.
Dealership would have done deal prior to 341 hearing.
Slated for discharge Sept. 26.
Bought a used 2011 Corolla at 24.9 APR through Chrysler Capital in April 2013. CC is a subsidiary of Santander. Tried to get modified terms for a reaffirmation, best they would do is not lower principal at all and 20.2 APR. Called them today to arrange surrender.
Oh...F&I guy said if I had waited until after discharge, I would have probably looked at APR around 12, but I wanted to take advantage of Honda summer clearance in combination with Costco pricing.
