That's OK. Keep looking. You will know the one when you meet. Maybe some Utah folks here can provide a suggestion to you in a Private Message. My revaluation came after about a dozen meetings...and I went back to one of the early ones I interviewed.

A basic rule of thumb is Don't Jack Around with Credit or Titles Before Filing Bankruptcy. At least, I think that was the name of the book I read...

Hey guys. Again, thanks again for all kind words and positive mojo.

    We ready for some question?

All my meetings with attorneys have left me unimpressed. Still looking for the right one.

Pulled the wife's credit and it showed on her cc debt a couple cards in my name. I made her an authorized user. By deleting her from the account will that come off her report and will she still be responsible?

    Thanks guys.

BG, I have been worried and I second sassiebaz, that our prayers do work. Prayer is ALWAYS answered. Yes, No, or wait.

That being said, You have already started your new start in life. Your wife will respect you more now and NEVER hide anything from a woman. LOL. They have that second sense. Love in God to you and her and your family. 'Hub

What a difference a few weeks make huh? So happy she came around and will stand by you now to be part of the solution for your family. Good luck and just make sure you are comfortable with whatever attorney you go with, ask them alot of questions about their background in bankruptcy and if they are the one that will actually go with you to the 341. Make sure you have access to them (ask for their direct email and/or phone number/ext. and see what kind of response you get) directly if you need to talk to them. Don't forget to get your google voice account setup and then contact all your creditors and change your phone number to the google voice number so you will have the messages in a neat little file on your computer somewhere. This will save you so much grief in the long run and have a record of who called and when in case you should need it at some point.

My wife has not only come back but is grateful that I came forward and shocked I carried all this stress by myself this long. We have sat down and prioritized our wants and needs list. I have also been offered a job that doubles our current salary and pays for insurance. Amazing how freeing this can be for your confidence and mind.

I plan on deciding on an attorney by the end of this week. Anyone in Utah have someone they would suggest?

Thanks for all the thoughts and kind words. Feels good to be back on the forum and in life.

Glad you are on track. As your attorney interviews will likely tell you, timing can make all the difference in the world when it comes to the Means Test, filing, and all the rest. Since your financial situation seems pretty fluid, I'd make doubly sure that the attorneys you speak with have your best interests in mind, and that you follow their instructions explicitly. BK is a huge decision, and it does have its penalties - but a fresh start with all the right pieces in place can be among the greatest gifts you could ever get. We are here to help sort that out so you can make a clear-headed decision.

As an aside, my wife was also very shocked and angry that I had "allowed" our situation to get so deep in the mud. It wasn't until after we had several long (loud) discussions that she came to realize that I had simply tried to shield her from the concerns and worries that I had about our finances. Lesson learned, for both of us. And now we have the ability to live on one income, have almost a full year's living expenses in the bank, have restarted our retirement savings, and really enjoy some of the simple things we had left behind...like the park (instead of the nightclub) and the swing in the back yard (instead of the theater).

Life gets better. Just plan it right.
