    Preventing calls at work

I’m preparing to file BK.......I got into a lot of trouble with internet/payday loans. Lately, my entire paycheck goes to loan payments. I am writing letters to each creditor, revoking permission to debit my bank account and debit card loan payments. If I specifically tell them to only contact me at home and not at work, will that prevent them from calling my work? I’m in California, if that makes a difference.

You can and should revoke permission to call you at work. If they do call at work, tell them that you are at work and do not give them permission to contact you at work. That should work in most cases.

And of course...one you file..and the automatic stay is on..you won't get those calls. Good luck going forward.
